audition posterAlmost, Maine by Tom Cariani is a series of nine Vignettes that look at love in a quirky but mostly fun way!

Auditions will be August 22 and 24 at 6:30 in the Bisgrove Theater at CCC. (Please note there will NOT be an audition on the 23rd.)

For audition please prepare a short (1-2  min) comic, contemporary monologue. There will also be readings from the script which will be provided.  Roles for men and women ages 20-something to 50-something (doubling possible)

The play will be performed Sept 22-25 in the Bisgrove.

The rehearsal period is short but since each vignette is only 2-3 characters and runs 10-15 minute this is certainly do-able. Please bring a list of conflicts to the audition as availability will be a factor in the casting

The directing duties will be shared by Bob Frame and Jenn Derbyshire.

Synopsis

Welcome to Almost, Maine, a town that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States—it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist. Because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it’s just…Almost.

One cold, clear Friday night in the middle of winter, while the northern lights hover in the sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. Love is lost, found, and confounded. And life for the people of Almost, Maine will never be the same.

ALMOST, MAINE: It’s love. But not quite.
