Cast Announced for Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men

Casting has been announced for the Auburn Players Community Theatre’s production of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, to run April 20-23 at the Irene Bisgrove Theater at Cayuga Community College.

Siouxsie Easter of Wells College Theater Dept will direct this classic tale of friendship, which follows two migrant workers in California during the Great Depression.

Adapted from his own novel, Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men is an essential adventure, an inspirational portrait of the American spirit and a heartbreaking testament to the bonds of friendship. Of Mice and Men tells the story of George and Lennie, an unlikely pair of friends drifting from job to job across the farms and fields of California, holding fast to their dream of one day having an acre of land they can call their own.

Of Mice and Men began as a novella published in 1937.  It was adapted for the screen several times and adapted as a radio play for the BBC. The first stage production was directed by George S. Kaufman in 1937 and ran for 207 performances.

This production is the 2nd Annual Page to Stage Series presented by the The Auburn Players Community Theater.  Student tickets for this performance will be free (groups please call ahead).  Teachers and schools are encouraged to contact the community group to arrange for tickets.  In addition, April 20th is Thrifty Theatre Thursday, general admission and senior citizen tickets will be half-price!  For tickets call (315) 702-7832
