While performers may receive the applause, those that work behind the curtain on are just as integral to the success of a show. Take a moment to meet the production team of the Auburn Players’ upcoming production, “Of Mice and Men.”
Siouxsie Easter (Director)
Siouxsie has sobbed at basically every rehearsal for Of Mice and Men. This story is one of her favorites from the great John Steinbeck and it has made her cry ever since she first read it for 10th grade AP English. While Siouxsie has absolutely no fear of men (there are 9 of them in the cast alone!!), she does have a fear of mice and basically anything small and furry that runs fast (that includes Chihuahuas and toddlers). She is the Associate Professor of Theatre at Wells College, as well as an independent director, actor, producer, and devised theatre artist. She also has served as the U.S. Professor at the Advanced Studies in England’s Theatre Summer School for the past three summers.
Ann Frame (Producer)
Following years of diligent work as stage manager and member of the technical staff for numerous performances, Ann is thrilled to be in the role of producer. Her stage management experience with The Auburn Players includes Moon Over Buffalo, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Night Mother, Annie, Steel Magnolias, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. She has also assisted in numerous productions with the Skaneateles Summer Theater. Ann serves on the APCT Board of Directors and works as a teacher’s aide in the Skaneateles School District. Her proudest role is mother to Michael, Caryl, Alicia, and Gillian, and wife to Bob.
Alexandria Collins (Stage Manager)
Ally has been a die hard theatre kid since fifth grade when she performed in the school musical. Ever since she has known that theatre is her passion, whether it be performing on stage, or working behind the scenes. When she is not working on a show she can be found attempting to play ukulele, singing at the piano, or going on a grand nature adventure.
Patti Goebel (Technical Director & Set Designer)
Patti is in her first production with The Auburn Players Community Theatre. She recently moved to Ithaca, NY after receiving her MFA from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Technical Direction. She currently is the Technical Director at Wells College in Aurora, NY where she teaches courses in design and technical theatre. Patti has traveled the country working for many companies, such as Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and the Utah Shakespeare Festival. In addition to her theatrical credits, Patricia is also the proud mother of a two-year-old Australian Shepherd named Bailey (for Bailey’s Irish Cream)!
Bob Frame (Lighting Designer)
Bob has designed lights many times before for the Players. Known for the adage: “without light, it’s dark” Bob has managed to enlighten many stages in the Auburn area, including CCC, MGR and APT (he also likes acronyms.) When he’s not in a theatre somewhere he lives in Mottville with his wife in an empty nest. His son is in Syracuse, one daughter is in Korea the other two are working in Chicago- one an actress the other a lighting tech. It seems that even though they have flown away they haven’t fallen too far from the tree! (Bob also like mixing metaphors)
Terri Fox Gadsby (Props Mistress)
Terri has worked behind the scenes in many capacities over the last several years, but has found Props to be her favorite role. She’s worked with Absolute Dance, Harlequin Productions, Auburn High School, Auburn Public Theater, Merry Go Round Youth Theatre, Glee Camp & of course The Auburn Players, where she also sits on the Board of Directors.
Amy Victory (Costume Designer)
Amy is the owner of “Amy’zing Adornments”, a costume rental business providing costumes for special occasions and specializing in large sizes. She has 40 years of sewing experience. She is an affiliate of A.P.E. productions which produces the Fright Night mansion, as well as films.
Riley Maasen (Sound Designer)
Riley is a senior theatre major at Wells College. Riley has previously done sound design for Wells College’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the productions of An Appeal to the Woman of the House and Juvie.
