The Auburn Players to host Community Dialogue following

THE LARAMIE PROJECT

By Moises Kaufman and members of The Tectonic Theater Project

THE PLAY: In response to the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard in 1998, a group of theater artists traveled to Laramie, Wyoming, and conducted hundreds of interviews about the hate crime. Drawing from their research, personal journal entries and news reports, they created The Laramie Project — an innovative, dialogue-driven theater piece that has been performed across the country and around the world since its 2002 debut.  Directed by Elisa Carabajal Hunt and featuring local actors, The Laramie Project takes the stage at the Auburn Public Theater on October 10, 11, & 12 at 7:30 PM.

THE CONVERSATION: Shortly after The Laramie Project hit Broadway, Moises Kaufman told Time that “the origin of theater is a community talking to itself.” The cast of this production of “The Laramie Project” will provide post-show discussions as a way to process and discuss the different points of view and the process of presenting this piece of theatre.
