Lindsay Day is the Producer for
Grinchmas – A Tribute to Dr. Seuss’
“How the Grinch Stole Christmas”
We asked her 3 questions about the show!
Q: This is a staged version of a readers’ theatre version of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Can you talk about what the audience can expect from Grinchmas?
A: The audience can expect to be immersed into the original Dr. Seuss’ storybook, and transported to the whimsical town of Whoville, where all their favorite characters will come to life before their eyes. The directors’ vision is to have the story jump off the pages of the storybook.
Q: How have rehearsals been going? Any fun stories to share?
A: Rehearsals have been going very well, with the cast embracing their characters and really trying to find their “inner Who.”
The musical lyrics have been a challenge, due to the words being tongue twisters in true Dr. Suess fashion.
One of our favorite moments during rehearsal, is when the Grinch (Seth Kennedy) misspoke one of his lines, lending a British accent to the word “packages” and it became a catch phrase during rehearsals.
Q: What’s your favorite part of the show?
A: One of the Directors’ favorite parts of the show is when the Whos realize Christmas came without all the materials things they had expected. They all come together for their Who Christmas song, and it gives her goose bumps!
Don’t forget this is a FREE Holiday show for the entire family.
