The Giver is based on the Newberry award-winning novel by Lois Lowry. Experience the unveiling of a seemingly perfect utopian society. Find out what life could be like if love, poverty, disease, hunger, and war disappeared. In fact, this society appears to be so perfect that you won’t have to worry about minor things like making decisions, having memories, dating, or even choosing a job. In this futuristic society, individual identity has gone the way of cassette tapes, and everyone is essentially just like everyone else. See The Giver and experience what appears to be utopia but is actually life without meaning.

This production is sponsored in part by The Finger Lakes Community Arts Grants and the generous donations of our community. It is only through this support that we are able to allow students to see on stage a book they might have read in the classroom.
