Lily Nila as Violet

The Auburn Players Community Theatre are pleased to announce that every student will be admitted free to a very special musical production of SKETCH.

SKETCH is the story of Violet, an 11-year-old outcast, who spends her days ducking insults from other students.  She escapes to her sketch book where she dreams up villainous alter egos for her classmates and teachers.  She soon discovers that her sketches have hurt other people and must learn to use her powers for good and become the hero in her own story.

This production is being developed with the kids at the ship’s helm.  Under the direction of the shows author Stephanie Figer, the cast has learned how to tell this story using theatrical techniques learned at rehearsals.  Figer explains, “What is presented onstage is coming to be through group collaboration, and I am so thrilled and thankful that this cast is willing to share ideas in a rehearsal environment that is fun, silly and “aha! moment” sparking.”

Join us for this special production on Friday, April 13th at 7:00 PM and Saturday April 14th at 2:00 & 7:00 PM at the new West End Theater (the former West Middle School) in Auburn.  Ticket prices are $5 to the general public with every student admitted for FREE.  Tickets are available at www.auburnplayers.org.  Groups are encouraged to call (315) 702-7832 to reserve seats.
