The Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS) awarded our recent production of Romeo and Juliet with the following honors:
Excellence in Acting to Simon Moody for his portrayal of Friar Lawrence
Meritorious Achievement in Acting to Dylan Walawender for his portrayal of Romeo
Meritorious achievement in Acting to Nick Bessette for his portrayal of Mercutio
Additionally, respondent Joan Luther said the following:
” Auburn Players Community Theatre brings a new twist to Romeo and Juliet, placing it in 2019 in El Paso, Texas. The story, known by everyone, is the same but director Dan Stevens’ concept creates a new element to this production. The production recreates the humor, romance and tragedy that makes Romeo and Juliet a favorite of both actors and audiences. This production was a great way to round out a Valentine Weekend.”
