Auburn Players recognized by The Theater Association of New York State
Antigone & Letters to Soldiers Lost wins six awards
August 23, 2021 – Last month, The Auburn Players Community Theater opened it’s 61st Season with the production of Antigone and Letters to Soldiers Lost, directed by Robert Frame. Based on Sophocles’ play Antigone, this adaptation by Al Schnupp inter-splices the classic Greek tragedy with letters written to lost soldiers and left at the Vietnam Wall in Washington DC.
The Theater Association of New York State (TANYS) has recognized this production with six awards as follows:
- Excellence in Production Concept &Technical Execution to Robert Frame, Virginia Fennessy and Terri Fox
- Excellence in Direction to Robert Frame
- Excellence in Costume Design to Barbara Murphy
- Excellence in Musical :Performance to John Fracchia, Nancy Kane and Jack Carr
- Meritorious Achievement in Ensemble Acting to the Cast
- Meritorious Achievement in Acting to Binaifer Dabu for her portrayal of Antigone
