The Auburn Players Community Theatre will present an encore performance of ANTIGONE AND LETTERS TO SOLDIERS LOST on Thursday, November 18th at 8:15pm at Auburn Public Theater in downtown Auburn. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are gratefully accepted.

The cast and crew of this production have been invited to compete in a statewide theater competition hosted by the Theater Association of New York State (TANYS) later this month. This performance will serve as their final dress rehearsal before they head to the competition.

ANTIGONE AND LETTERS TO SOLDIERS LOST was originally produced last fall and again this summer. The play is based on Sophocles’ play “Antigone.”  This adaptation, by Al Schnupp,  inter-splices the play with letterswritten to lostsoldiers and left at the Vietnam Wall in Washington, DC.  The letters are read by the cast as members at specific moments throughout the play. Directed by Bob Frame, this beautifully staged, poignant play shows how survivors deal with the aftermath of war.
