Thriller Auditions – 8/31 & 9/1

The Auburn Players begins it’s 2022-2023 season with the tightly-woven thriller,

THE DECEPTION OF KATHRYN VASK

Blaming herself for her son’s death in an accident, a grief-stricken woman wants to hold a séance to get his forgiveness from beyond the grave. But when her husband conspires with the family pastor to hire actors and fake the proceedings, things don’t go as planned … or do they? 

The show, directed by Bob Frame, will play for one weekend (Oct 6-8, 2022) at Cayuga Community College in Auburn. Rehearsals will take place over a four-week span and the schedule will be confirmed after casting.

Audition Information

Cast: 5 total (2 female, 3 male)

KATHRYN VASK, female. 30’s. A woman in the grip of grief over the accidental death of her nine-year old son Timothy. She feels both responsible and guilty and is stuck in a state of utter loss. She has faith in God and believes in the supernatural.

JONATHAN VASK, male. 30’s. KATHRYN’s husband. He is very frustrated about his wife’s state of mind. He thinks she should have moved on by now and he is becoming desperate to find a way to make that happen. He is an atheist and has zero belief in anything supernatural.

FATHER MICHAEL CADIGAN, AKA FATHER MIKE, male.29-years old. A Catholic priest who loves to wear his clerical clothing. He knows how JONATHAN feels about what he represents, but he also wants very much to help KATHRYN.

LESLIE HARMON, female. 59-years old. A psychic medium. Magical and mystical She believes in her powers. Must vocally embody a young girl, a nasty father, a young boy during the seance

ALBERT HARMON, male. 63-years old. Leslie’s husband and assistant. Helps keep the séance on track. Serious.

Audition Dates: August 31 & September 1 at 6:30 PM
